Joseph Leslie Hudson, had a zest for life
Joseph Leslie Hudson passed away Wednesday, June 26, 2024, in Seaford. He was born July 10, 1959, in Milford, beloved son of the late Francis Joseph and Virginia Ellen (Lecates) Hudson.
Joe graduated from Laurel High School with the Class of 1978 and later completed his carpentry training at Sussex Technical School. He began his career as a drywall technician at Nanticoke Homes, where he worked for 21 years. He then continued his professional journey at Solo Cups/Dart Container Inc.
Joe had a zest for life and enjoyed a variety of hobbies, including putting together models, bowling, crabbing, fishing, horseshoes, 4-wheeling, ATVs, and mud bogs. He was also a passionate NASCAR and dirt track racing fan with his buddies, Albert Baker and Jimmy Ellis. Above all, Joe was known for the love and respect he shared with his family, especially his nieces, nephews, and his second dad and mom, Albert and Ilene Baker.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents, Francis Joseph and Virginia Ellen Hudson. He is survived by his siblings, Lorraine Neal (Tom), Mary Young (Bob), Penny West (Tim), Jane Ortiz (Eduardo) and Dean Hudson (Karen). He will also be deeply missed by his numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, July 5, at Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro. A viewing will take place from 10 to 11 a.m. Interment will immediately follow the service at Carey's Cemetery, Millsboro.
Joe's legacy of love and enthusiasm for life will be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.
