Rehoboth Beach Santa Bar Crawl returns Dec. 7

November 23, 2024

The third annual Rehoboth Beach Santa Bar Crawl will start with a group photo shoot at 1 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 7, on the boardwalk at Wilmington Avenue. Supporters are encouraged to dress up as Santa Claus, Mrs. Claus, or one of the elves, bring along a new, unwrapped toy for the Marine Toys For Tots Foundation, and head to Rehoboth to spread some holiday cheer and hop from location to location.

Following the photo, the crawl will be underway until 6 p.m. at 25 participating bars and restaurants. Many will be offering food and drink specials for those donating toys or making donations to the Stephen Siller Tunnel To Towers Foundation. A new partner for this year’s crawl, the foundation provides mortgage-free homes to Gold Star families and fallen first responder families. It also builds specially adapted smart homes for catastrophically injured veterans and first responders. The foundation’s namesake, Stephen Siller, FDNY, lost his life on 9/11 in service to others.

This is a free and non-ticketed event, and attendees are welcome to start and progress in any order and time frame they prefer.  All participating restaurants and bars will have official Marine Toys for Tots toy drop boxes for the donations.

The 2024 Rehoboth Beach Santa Bar Crawl will conclude with a Santa dance party featuing a live DJ from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at the last stop, Conch Island Key West Bar & Grill.

Last year’s crawl saw around 700 attendees, and nearly 2,500 toys were donated. Event coordinator Rob Weed has set goals this year to collect 3,000 toys and $10,000 for Tunnel To Towers.
