Four Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing students were recently given scholarship funding thanks to the Irene P. Sorbara Charitable Foundation.
The scholarships were established by Irene P. Sorbara to be awarded to Sussex County residents who are pursuing postsecondary education in the fields of nursing or teaching.
Sorbara was born in Lewes in 1938 and died in 2007. She spent her entire 30-year career as an elementary school teacher in Rehoboth Beach.
Scholarship funds can be used for tuition and costs directly related to school expenses.
Students who were awarded scholarship monies this year are: Gracie Brewster of Selbyville, Alexis Porohnavi of Georgetown, Marisol Isabelle Azar of Millsboro and Reagan Hockenbrock of Selbyville.
