The Rehoboth Beach Village Improvement Association was thrilled to host a special benefit concert, Shattering Myths, featuring the acclaimed country music duo The Young Fables.

This event, dedicated to raising domestic and sexual violence awareness and prevention, took place July 14 in the VIA clubhouse at 415 Grenoble Place in Rehoboth Beach.

The VIA’s Maribeth Dockety said, “The Young Fables are performing to benefit several different nonprofit organizations who will hopefully be receiving donations from the ticket sales of the event.”

“We have worked with a nonprofit organization back in our hometown, and I’ve been a part of it since I was 12 years old, called the New Hope Blunt Advocacy Center,” said Laurel Wright, vocalist of The Young Fables. “It’s very similar to this, a nonprofit organization where they support children who have been the victims of sexual and domestic abuse and all that terrible, terrible stuff. It’s really good to be a part of something like that away from home.”

Tickets were $40 per person with funds going to organizations such as What Is Your Voice Inc. and Pathways to Success. Beer, wine and water were available for an additional fee.
