Lewes student attends Junior National Young Leaders Conference

This summer, Estelle Damouni joined outstanding students from across the country to take part in the Junior National Young Leaders Conference in College Park, Md., a week-long academic and career-oriented development experience.

The conference is one of the Envision by WorldStrides family of programs that enable students to explores their interests and experience learning beyond the classroom. 

For outstanding achievements both in and outside the classroom at Worcester Preparatory School, Estelle was nominated to attend the forum by Dr. John McDonald, head of school. Along with being a leader as sixth-grade class president, she leads in swim team and teaches younger children how to swim. With aspirations to become an astronaut with she grows up, Estelle is already well on her way by being one of the top students in her advanced math class. She also loves to dance, play basketball and volleyball, and explore her newly found sport of water polo. 

“I’m excited for Estelle to have been able to meet, work and collaborate with fellow high-aspiring students from other cities and schools,” said Dr. Jan Sikorsky, Envision vice president of education. “The Junior National Young Leaders Conference is a wonderful opportunity for ambitious young students to discover how to innovate and think creatively through hands-on, immersive learning. Our students are challenged with real-world simulations and problems, working together to develop original solutions and projects to bring life to their studies and career interests.”
