The Bayhealth Foundation hosted two informational presentations at Baywood Greens on June 25 and The Peninsula on July 24. Residents of Millsboro and Long Neck were able to gain an overview of Bayhealth as well as insights on Bayhealth core services, locations and upcoming projects.

Information about Bayhealth included a review of the health system, particularly the extensive services that Bayhealth offers. As the largest healthcare system in central and southern Delaware, Bayhealth offers nearly every kind of health-related service that’s available in large, metropolitan areas.
Presentation highlights included learning about the Bayhealth Sussex Campus – the newest hospital in Sussex County, and Bayhealth Total Care – the only free-standing hybrid emergency and urgent care center in Delaware which opened in July 2023. Both facilities provide exceptional and 24/7 care to our community.
Another topic of interest was the soon-to-be completed PAM Health Inpatient Rehabilitation facility on the Bayhealth Sussex Campus. This addition will allow Bayhealth to further expand medical/surgical bed capacity in the county.
Those in attendance also learned about Bayhealth’s plans to build a new childcare center on its Sussex Campus. The center will assist Bayhealth in the recruitment and retention of team members who have small children.
Bayhealth’s growing Graduate Medical Education (GME) was another topic of discussion. The program has grown to include 84 resident physicians in four different specialty residencies and the first two hematology and medical oncology fellows in Delaware. Our family medicine and internal medicine residents have added nearly 40,000 patient visits to the community members in Delaware.
