Bayhealth Volunteers Celebrated for Their Commitment

September 6, 2024

The Bayhealth Foundation and Bayhealth’s Volunteer Services celebrated the 384 in-house volunteers who donated more than 97,000 hours of their time and support to Bayhealth in 2023 with a volunteer luncheon. The volunteers enjoyed an afternoon focused on celebrating their contributions which were equivalent to over $3M worth of services.

“Our volunteers serve in many different areas of our health system,” said Volunteer Manager Jenni Bobel. “From pet therapy teams to those who transport our patients, we have an incredible team of volunteers who are passionate about helping our patients and supporting Bayhealth team members.”

The luncheon included a photo booth, DJ and connecting with Bayhealth team members and leaders who showed their thanks to the volunteers. PAM Health graciously provided a buffet lunch.

“We’re incredibly grateful to the 384 volunteers across Bayhealth who gave of their own time to support our patients and the communities we serve,” said Bayhealth President & CEO Terry Murphy, FACHE. “Your support in key areas means we’re able to focus on the important work we do each day and that’s taking care of our patients.”

During the event, Yvonne Mullens and Harold “Skip” Holmberg received the 2023 Chaplaincy Service Award while Dolores Greenlee and Carol Kates received the 2023 Physician’s Appreciation Award.

“The event highlighted and celebrated the work of our volunteers,” said Bayhealth Foundation President Lindsay Rhodenbaugh, DMin. “It was a collaborative event, thanks to our partnership with PAM Rehab, that was focused on our volunteers who positively impact our health system every day thanks to their generosity of time and talent.”
