Jazz performances at Bethany Blues to kick off Oct. 16
Ahead of jazz festival weekend entertainment slated across the Cape Region, musical performances at Bethany Blues Lewes will kick off with the youth jazz celebration party at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 16, at 18385 Coastal Highway, Lewes. Presented in partnership with the True Blue Jazz organization co-founded by Peggy Raley and Eddie Sherman, the event will feature more than 120 local youth musicians from five area school districts. A portion of proceeds benefits the True Blue Jazz Scholarship fund.
Elwood Bishop’s Funky Jazz Ensemble featuring international touring vibraphonist Joe Baione will play from 8:30 to 11 p.m., Friday, Oct. 18. Dance to the Max Band, a six-piece group from Philadelphia, will play at 8:30 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 19.
Back Bay Blues will play during a Blues Brunch from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., Sunday, Oct. 20. Five college-based young musicians will showcase an eclectic mix of jazz, pop and blues.
