Peace Week Delaware project on display thru Oct. 31
The League of Women Voters of Sussex County and Chesapeake Bay Girl Scouts Troop 665 collaborated on a Peace Week Delaware project that will be on display through Thursday, Oct. 31, in the Lewes Public Library lobby.
The exhibit comprises poems and short essays on the theme Peace – Delaware Style accompanied by bubble art produced by the Girl Scouts from Troop 665. Each scout will earn a Democracy and Citizenship Action badge for their contributions to the project.
Anticipating the celebration of Peace Week, held from Saturday, Oct. 19 to Sunday, Oct. 27, league member Ida Rowe initiated and organized the effort in collaboration with the Girl Scouts, Lewes Public Library and Peace Week Delaware. She said the aim was to demonstrate how a collaborative and multigenerational community effort can promote and communicate feelings and emotions of peace.
