Deborah Lynn Flynn, passionate business owner
Deborah Lynn (Beaver) Flynn, 71, passed away peacefully Thursday, Oct. 3, 2024, in Lewes. She was born Aug, 27, 1953, in Fort Belvoir, Va., beloved daughter of the late Harry Melvin and Marion Irene (Waid) Beaver.
A passionate business owner, Deborah had a gift for finding and selling antiques. She had an eye for design, transforming ordinary objects into things of beauty. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including watching her favorite game shows and TV classics like “M*A*S*H*,” “Leave It to Beaver,” and “Downton Abbey.” She loved solving crossword puzzles, fishing, going for boat rides, and spending time at the beach. Deborah cherished memories of her time with Gus, her canine companion, whose presence filled her days with joy. A talented cook, Deborah was especially known for baking her famous pumpkin and pecan pies, and passed down the family heirloom of sand tart cookies during the Christmas season.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Douglas Flynn; and her sister, Sheila Basso. She leaves behind a loving family who will cherish her memory, her children, Joshua Royce (Lauren), Dawn Hill (Larry), Lindsay Flynn and Jessica Flynn (Jacob Ewald); her grandchildren, Haley Royce, Miranda Hill, Ryan Downey, Scarlett Graham and Flynn Ewald; her great-grandchild, Parker McCary; her brothers, Gary Dolbin and Donnie Dolbin; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 19, at Watson Funeral Home & Crematorium, Millsboro. Family and friends are invited for visitation from 10 to 11 a.m.
Deborah will be remembered for her creativity, kindness, and love for her family. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her.
