Hoey Stevenson exemplifies service, dedication, integrity

October 18, 2024

As a veteran, my support for Kim Hoey Stevenson for the Delaware Senate 6th District seat stems from her commitment to service, community and values that resonate with those of us who have worn the uniform.

First and foremost, Kim embodies a strong sense of duty and public service, which aligns with the core values that veterans hold dear. She has a proven track record of advocating for her constituents, demonstrating an unwavering dedication to improving the lives of Delawareans. Her extensive experience in local governance showcases her ability to listen, engage and act in the best interest of the community, qualities that are essential in a leader.

What stands out to me personally is Kim's encouragement during my transition from military service. She motivated me to seek job opportunities, which ultimately led me to a position where I now help fellow veterans obtain their benefits. This experience has shown me firsthand how a supportive leader can make a meaningful impact.

Her advocacy for veterans is particularly impressive. Kim understands the unique challenges we face, from healthcare access to employment opportunities. She prioritizes programs that enhance veteran services, ensuring we receive the support we deserve while fostering a culture that honors our sacrifices.

Additionally, Kim's focus on education and workforce development is vital. By advocating for better educational access and vocational training, she equips the next generation for success and helps veterans transition smoothly into civilian careers. Her vision for a robust workforce aligns with our collective goal of contributing positively to society.

In addition, Kim’s stance on healthcare is crucial for all members of society. Access to quality healthcare is a fundamental right, and her commitment to expanding and improving healthcare services benefits everyone, including veterans and their families. By championing mental health resources and holistic care, she acknowledges the unique challenges many face, particularly regarding PTSD and other conditions that affect both veterans and the broader community. This focus on comprehensive healthcare solutions is vital for fostering a healthy and resilient society as a whole.

Moreover, Kim fosters inclusivity and community engagement. She believes in ensuring that all constituents feel heard and represented, which strengthens our democracy and helps tackle community issues.

Finally, Kim’s leadership style is grounded in integrity and transparency. As veterans, we know the importance of trust and accountability. Her willingness to communicate openly with her constituents and commitment to ethical governance reflect the values we uphold in the military. Her approach inspires confidence that she will act in the best interests of the people she serves.

In summary, I support Kim Hoey Stevenson for the Delaware Senate 6th District seat because she exemplifies the principles of service, dedication and integrity. Her experience, personal encouragement in my career, and commitment to veterans and the community make her the right choice for our district. By electing her, we can all build a brighter future for all Delawareans.
