DRBA summer internship applications due Jan. 31
Delaware River & Bay Authority officials announced applications are open for its summer internship program, which provides university and college students with an opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a professional work environment.
Encompassing a 10-week commitment during summer 2025, the internship comprises on-the-job experience, project and leadership development, involvement with senior leaders and cross-functional team experiences.
“The authority is proud to offer internships to prospective candidates who are seeking to gain real-world experience and polish their skills,” said Sherita Copeland, DRBA senior human resources specialist for recruiting. “Successful candidates will not only learn more about their prospective career path, but also contribute to the success of a unique organization. In the end, our innovative program will provide insight into whether that particular career is something the individual wants to pursue.”
Copeland noted that participants will work on practical assignments and specific projects in their chosen career field. Since the program started in 2012, more than 75 students from Delaware, New Jersey, Pennsylvania and other states have successfully completed internships at the bistate agency.
Internships are available in the following departments: communications/public relations, engineering, executive administration, hospitality/food and retail, human resources, social media/marketing, maintenance and airports.
Prospective candidates must submit their applications and résumés at drba.net no later than Friday, Jan. 31.
The internship program will begin Monday, June 2, and end Friday, Aug. 8. The authority’s paid internship offers undergraduate students $16 per hour. Graduate program students are paid $18 per hour for a 40-hour workweek.
