Art exhibition film series to spotlight Johannes Vermeer Jan. 8, 11
The Rehoboth Beach Film Society announced the 2025 Exhibition on Screen series will kick off with screenings of “Vermeer: The Greatest Exhibition,” at 2 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 8, and 6 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 11, at the Cinema Art Theater, Lewes.
Working with top international museums and galleries, EOS creates films that offer a cinematic immersion into the world’s best-loved or sometimes underrated artists, accompanied by insights from leading historians and arts critics.
With loans from across the world, the major retrospective brings together Vermeer's most famous masterpieces including “Girl with a Pearl Earring,” “The Geographer,” “The Milkmaid,” “The Little Street,” “Lady Writing a Letter with her Maid” and “Woman Holding a Balance.” The film invites audiences to a private viewing of the exhibition, accompanied by the Rijksmuseum director and the show curator.
