Fred Thomas crowns three champions at Steve Stewart Tournament
The 2025 Steve Stewart Middle School Wrestling Classic at Milford Central Academy welcomed 24 teams Feb. 1 for the one-day competition.
WT Chipman earned the team championship with 243 points followed by Fred Thomas with 183, Woodbridge with 170, Milford with 153, Dover Central with 138 and Smyrna with 135.
Mariner placed 10th with 119.5 points, while Beacon garnered 14th place with 100.5 points.
The lightweight hammers of Fred Thomas earned three individual championships – Finn Gannon (76), Briggs Gannon (82) and Jack Hudson (106). The trio has not lost a match this season.
Malec Ksebe (112) of Fred Thomas placed second in his weight class.
Additional top-six placers for Fred Thomas were Devin Silva (88), fourth; Connor Gordy (94), sixth; Charlie Imperial (130), fifth; and Michael Clark (170), fifth.
Mariner place winners were Tyler Csala (82), fourth; Skylar Erickson (106), fifth; and Ryder Gomez (130), second.
Beacon place winners were Connor Gordy (94), sixth; Anthony Smith (112), third; Eli Draper (118), fourth; and Cole Goodsell (heavyweight), second.
