Former Lewes resident Dr. John Evans to preach at Groome UMC July 1
Dr. John Evans, author and former Lewes resident, will preach at the 9 a.m. worship service Sunday, July 1, at Groome United Methodist Church, Savannah Road and Dewey Avenue in Lewes. He will be welcomed by the Rev. William Hopkins, Groome UMC pastor.
Evans moved with his family to Lewes in 1956 and graduated from Lewes High School in the class of 1962. His sister, Jill Evans Landon, resides in Lewes with her husband, Col. (Ret.) William Landon.
Evans’ published books include “A Breath of Fresh Prayer,” “Problem Solving Prayer,” “A Forgiving Heart” and most recently, “The Inquiring Mind.” He is the founder and organizing pastor of four churches in southern Arizona. He is the pastor of Sierra Springs Church in Hereford, Ariz.
He would enjoy welcoming former classmates, friends and the community at large to the Sunday worship service.
