A coastal flood advisory will remain in effect until 6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12. According to the National Weather Service, the prolonged onshore winds may prevent the back bays from draining and cause minor flooding.
Flooding may also occur during the Saturday afternoon high tide cycle between 1 and 3 p.m. High surf of six to nine feet will continue through Saturday and likely cause beach erosion.
The National Weather Service advises motorists to avoid driving through flooded areas and to avoid leaving a vehicle in an area prone to flooding.
