The Harry K Foundation Christmas Ball took place Dec. 6 at Rehoboth Beach Country Club. The event raises funds to feed the area's neediest children by using 100 percent of the proceeds to supply local food pantries.
Community members attend with open wallets for a grand evening starting with a silent auction, JROTC performance, and presentation of colors by the Dover Air Force Base Cadets, followed by dinner, dancing and a live auction.
The Harry K Foundation, established by Harry Keswani, raises money and donates proceeds to help alleviate food insecurity in its local community. H4 Initiative has pledged to support the Delaware Food Bank in supporting children’s nutritional programming within Sussex County.
The Cape Henlopen High School JROTC cadets performed a variety of functions during the evening as entry door greeters, guest escorts, a flag honor guard on the staircases, and auction room guides. In addition, the Cadet Armed Drill Squad, composed of cadets Alex Dominick, Jake Sirinades, and Josh Betts, conducted a small armed drill performance after dinner for the assembled guests. Each of the cadets who participated received community service credit for their work.
