John Robert Bailey, retired Spanish teacher
John Robert Bailey, 78, of Georgetown, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2015, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. He was born June 21, 1936, in Pittsburgh, Pa., son of the late Frederick and Elizabeth (Mooney) Bailey.
He is survived by his loving wife of 44 years, Donna Bailey; his loving daughter, Karen Fello; and was both a father and grandfather to his loving granddaughters, Holly and Victoria Fello. In addition to his parents, Mr. Bailey was preceded in death by his sister, Grace Mitchell; and brother, James Bailey.
John was a high school Spanish teacher for 35 years. He taught at Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh, and the Fairfax County School System in Virginia until his retirement and subsequent retirement to Delaware in 1997. He was the most kind and generous man who was intensely devoted to his family and friends. He will be terribly missed by all who knew him.
Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, Jan. 12, at noon, at St. Michael the Archangel, 202 Edward St., Georgetown, where friends may call beginning at 11 a.m. Interment will be private.
Arrangements are being handled by Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Dodd-Carey Chapel, Georgetown.
