James C. Pearson, retired engineer
James C. Pearson, 77, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Tuesday, March 31, 2015, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. He was born Monday, April 26, 1937, in Yonkers, N.Y., son of the late Robert and Eleanor (Weiss) Pearson.
Mr. Pearson was a 1953 graduate of MIT, where his course of study was mechanical engineering. In 1955 he graduated with a master's degree in math from New York University.
Mr. Pearson retired in 1969 from the U.S. Army Reserves as a captain. In 2001 he retired as a munitions engineer with the U.S. Department of Defense.
Mr. Pearson was a lifelong health enthusiast; he enjoyed daily workouts, running, walking and daily visits to the health club.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Pearson was preceded in death by his son, Robert Pearson. He is survived by his wife, Margaret (MacLauren) Pearson; his daughter, Elizabeth Murphy; and two grandsons, Ian and Declan Murphy.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, April 11, at noon, at The Lutheran Church of Our Savior, 20276 Bay Vista Road, Rehoboth Beach.
