Electricity quit last night at 11 p.m. Pitch black. Hot room. No air. Quiet except for dogs barking, and occasional scampering of lizards across the walls. Clean and friendly lizards. Crowing roosters woke us and outside our room the steady pounding of Pacific waves. More big breezes. Jose taught me to surf today. Fell a lot. Rode a few. Felt the surge. Many smiles. Tomorrow I will write about baseball - big in Nicaragua.
