For 10 days each summer Harrington is alive with excitement as the host town of the Delaware State Fair. The huge fairgrounds provide space for entertainment, top-name performers, racing pigs, fireworks, livestock displays and competitions, endless food vendors, petting zoos, carnival rides and games and demonstrations and contests in a variety of skills, arts and crafts and other talents. This year's fair ends on Saturday, Aug. 1; gates open at 8 a.m.
