Barbara K. Edginton, retired nurse

Barbara Keiffer Edginton, 87,  of Hoschton, Ga., formerly of Lewes, passed away Wednesday, July 29, 2015, at The Oaks of Braselton in Hoschton. She was born Aug. 24, 1927, in Flemington, Pa., daughter of the late Ralph Kieffer and Helen (Campbell) Keiffer Reitano. She was also predeceased by her husband Paul P. Edginton; and a brother Leslie Keiffer.

Barbara graduated from Lock Haven High School, Lock Haven, Pa. in 1945 and the Beebe School of Nursing in 1948, where she received her nursing degree. She went on to work for Dr. James Beebe in his office as well as work for Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. Following her retirement, she worked at the Gull House in Rehoboth Beach as well as Peach Tree.

She was a member of the Unity Chapter 16 Order of the Eastern Star, Lewes, a member of the International Order of Job's Daughters, where she was Past Bethel Guardian, and was a member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church in Lewes from 1962 until her passing.

Barbara had been living near her daughter Debbie at The Oaks of Braselton Assisted Living community in Hoschton for the past several years.

She is survived by a daughter Deborah Lynch Papaioanu and husband Michael of Gainesville, Ga; son James A. Lynch and wife Terry of Mlford; daughter Dawn M. Petterson of Lewes; half brother Ralph Keiffer Jr and wife Marilyn of Ohio; stepson Donald Edginton of Lewes; stepdaughter Marcia Klingel of Statesboro, Ga.; and stepdaughter Joanne Allen and husband Wayne of Australia; grandchildren Lesli Gilbert and husband Robert of Natick, Mass, Thomas Bennett and wife Christina of Murryville, Ga., Jordan Petterson and wife Hannah of Milton, Scott Klingel and wife Stacy of Statesboro, Ga., and John Klingel and wife Susan of Alabama; and 10 great-grandchildren

Special mention of two very special friends who held a special place in Barbara's heart - Kimberly Bricker and husband Matt of Cumming, Ga., and Sue Lofland and husband Bill of Lewes.

All services were private at her request with burial at St. Peter's Cemetery, Pilottown, Lewes.
