Rails still vital route for goods in Coastal Sussex

October 19, 2015

The Delaware Coast Line Railroad has been operating in Sussex County since the early 1980s. About twice a month a train hauls tanker cars to and from the SPI Pharma factory at the end of the line near Cape Henlopen State Park in Lewes.

The short-line railroad operates lines between Georgetown and Lewes and Georgetown and Milton and operates out of its shop in the Sussex County Industrial Park in Georgetown.
