Frances E. Kirker, devoted to Epworth

Frances Elizabeth Kirker, 84, of Rehoboth Beach, passed away Monday, Nov. 16, 2015, at Beebe Healthcare in Lewes. She was born Sept. 9, 1931, in Saluda, Va., daughter of the late Norman Monroe and Mary Belle (Sweet) Sibley.

Mrs. Kirker married the love of her life, Bobby A. Kirker, Feb. 29, 1952, at Epworth United Methodist Church in Rehoboth Beach, where she was a dedicated member throughout the years.

She enjoyed a 30-year career with Delmarva Power and Light in Millsboro, retiring as a computer specialist. Upon retirement, Mrs. Kirker continued working for several years at Home Depot in Lewes. During her leisure time, she loved gardening and cooking for her vast family and friends. She also enjoyed taking trips with her family up and down the East Coast, making great memories.

Mrs. Kirker cherished simple moments spent with her family, giving loving care and attention to her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She will be remembered as a loving and dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and a dear friend to all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Kirker was preceded in death by her daughter, Julia Lee Mitchell; and six siblings: Iva Ray Davis, Norman M. Sibley Jr., James Sibley, Ralph Sibley, Virgil Alvin Sibley and Barbara Hodges.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Bobby Allen Kirker; two children: Robert Allen Kirker and his wife Kimberly of Leesport, Pa., and JoAnn Economos and her husband Gregory of Georgetown; 10 grandchildren: Samantha Jo Mitchell of Georgetown, Justin Mitchell Jr. of Millsboro, Erin Kirker of Leesport, Andrew Kirker of Leesport, Corrine Jo Angeron and her husband Calen of Milton, Kaitlin Ann Monroe and her husband Burr of Lewes, Lucretia Megan Economos of Detroit, Mich., Carly Rae Linden and her husband David of New York City, N.Y., Joan Elizabeth Jones and her husband Jordan of Georgetown, and Margaret Lee Economos of Newark; and nine great-grandchildren: Evelyn and Lavinia Angeron both of Milton, Vida and Sora Monroe both of Lewes, Aza Gregory Smith Economos of Detroit, Jules and Jacqueline Jones, Julia Negron and Lilah Harmon all of Georgetown.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, Nov. 19, at 11 a.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may call beginning at 10 a.m. Interment will be held following services at the Epworth Methodist Cemetery, Rehoboth Beach.
