Delaware Hospice's 29th annual Festival of Trees raised more than $30,000 to help hospice provide end-of-life care for families.
Dozens of organizations and individuals sponsored decorated Christmas trees. The three-day annual event featured 27 trees and 17 wreaths.
Longtime volunteer Regina Hansen said during the Dec. 4 gala the Festival of Trees is a critical fundraising event. Last year, the event raised about $40,000.
"They really need it," she said. "The patients need it."
The event included entertainment by Junior Wilson and Catering by Nage, as well as a bake and gift shop, tree raffle and "Teddy Bear Disco" with crafts, games, entertainment and photos with Santa.
