That's right - it's again that special time of the year when we ready the sparklers and noise makers, put the champagne on ice, and ring in yet another new year at and near the Delaware and Maryland beaches.

Enjoy New Year's Eve 2023 at one of our picks or head out to a favorite place of your own and plan for a fun and memorable evening. There's certainly no shortage of ways to ring in the new year at and near the beaches.

Lightship Overfalls Anchor Drop
The iconic lightship resting in the Lewes Harbor will again be hosting a special New Year's Eve event in 2023, where members of the public can stop by to ring in the New Year in a uniquely southern Delaware way.
The historic red and white lightship will be all decked out for the night with the lit-up anchor dropping into the Lewes Harbor promptly at midnight.
The fun begins at 11:30 p.m., and runs until 1 a.m. This event is free but donations are appreciated.

Dewey Beach Ball Drop
The resort town of Dewey Beach will again be holding its special ball drop this year. Spectators and revelers are invited to gather between New Orleans Street and Route 1 to help ring in the new year at the stroke of midnight.
In what has become a coastal Delaware tradition, the Rehoboth Beach Volunteer Fire Company will drop the “ball,” which actually more closely resembles a skimboarder, in the middle of New Orleans Street at midnight.
Before the ball drops, party favors, hats, and noisemakers will be handed out, adding to the party-like atmosphere in the coastal Delaware resort town.
This is a free event that begins at 11:30 p.m. More information is available here.
New Year's Eve Masquerade Ball
The Atlantic Sands Hotel and Conference Center on the Boardwalk in Rehoboth Beach will once again be hosting a memorable New Year's Eve party at the beach.
Scheduled for 8 p.m. until 1 a.m., the evening's activities include music from "The Sons of Pirates," a surf and turf-themed dinner, an open bar, a champagne toast at midnight, a dessert station, and much more.
Tickets are $459 per couple, which includes two tickets to the party, as well as an overnight hotel stay and breakfast in the morning. Or if you just want to attend the party alone, the cost is $169 per person.
Reservations are required for this event, which you can make by calling 302-227-2511 or visiting atlanticsandshotel.com.
