Central Delaware Interfaith Alliance adopts mission statement
The recently formed Central Delaware Interfaith Alliance has adopted a mission statement for its organization.
At an Oct. 12 meeting, group members voted on the mission statement to help with their vision and blueprint for future work.
The process of creating the mission statement took several advance meetings, held both in person and virtually. Input was included from many local faith leaders, churches, houses of worship and the local synagogue and mosque.
Now the group will focus on continuing drafting by-laws, which will be put into use in early 2022.
The new mission statement reads as follows, “The Central Delaware Interfaith Alliance is devoted to the principle of the oneness and wholeness of the human family. This body welcomes members from across all faith and cultural communities, recognizing the importance of compassion and cooperation. We value fellowship, interfaith dialogue and reciprocity. While receiving inspiration and guidance from our own varied faith traditions, we seek to unite our cherished communities by sharing in service, offering educational opportunities, and working for a fair, just and equitable society.”
The Central Delaware Interfaith Alliance has merged with the group formerly known as the Kent Ecumenical Food and Crisis Fund. To donate, mail contributions to P.O. Box 913, Dover, DE 19903.
