Colestrong brings hope and funds to teen cancer patients

September 1, 2022

The Colestrong Foundation, a local charity dedicated to advocating for the lives of teenagers diagnosed with cancer, held an event at Hudson Fields Aug 28.

The event was a partnership between the Parker Group real estate company and the Willey family, whose son, Cole, was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia in 2019. The event raises funds for care packages for teens and to help their families deal with the diagnosis. A portion of sales from the event went to Colestrong.

“The PG Field Day is part of the Parker Group,” said Rachel Parker, who co-founded the Parker Group with her husband Dustin. “We have a Give Local Initiative, which is how we like to give back to the community.”

“The Parker Group invited us to join them at this event,” said Cole’s mother Laralyn. “Revelation Beer also brought us on board and they are donating all of the proceeds to the Colestrong Foundation.”

The event included food trucks, bounce houses, face painting, entertainment and a corn hole tournament run by Delaware Corn Hole.
