Deborah Marie Heffentrager, cherished family, friends

Deborah Marie Heffentrager, 65, of Lewes passed away Sunday, Aug. 1, 2021, at Delaware Hospice Center in Milford. She was born Feb. 2, 1956, daughter of the late Fredrick D. and Blanche M. Slater.

Debbie grew up near Midway and attended the Cape Henlopen School District.  She loved watching hummingbirds, listening to country music, and always had a love for Elvis Presley.  Above all, Debbie cherished time spent with those she held most dear.  She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, Debbie was preceded in death by her son, Kristopher Heffentrager Sr.; and her brothers: Donald Slater and Thomas Slater.  She is survived by her sons: Shawn Heffentrager and Stephen Heffentrager; her grandchildren: Kristopher Heffentrager Jr. and Ashley Heffentrager; her brother, Fred Slater; her sister, Carol A. Miller; her best friend, Connie Collins; and a special cousin, Bob Stevenson.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, Aug. 10, 2021, at 11 a.m., at Parsell Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Atkins-Lodge Chapel, 16961 Kings Highway, Lewes, where friends may visit beginning at 10 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to Conley’s United Methodist Church, 33106 Jolyn’s Way, Lewes.
