Dogfish Head’s Milton Tasting Room & Kitchen will host its annual Punkin Ale Fest, a fall festival inspired by the brewery’s iconic Punkin Ale, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m., Saturday, Oct. 12.
During this free, outdoor community event, attendees can enjoy a variety of local craft vendors, live music, food trucks, fall-centric libations, games, a pet photo booth and more.
For nearly 30 years, Punkin Ale has been a staple in Dogfish Head’s lineup, blending real pumpkin, brown sugar and spices to create a full-bodied brown ale. For cider lovers, the brewery will be pouring two offerings from Angry Orchard cider house in Walden, N.Y. Alongside Dogfish Head’s classics, exclusive brews will be flowing, as well as hot nonalcoholic cider. Those in the mood for something a bit stronger can add a splash of Dogfish Head’s Punkin Liqueur to their cider.
A portion of the proceeds from this year’s Punkin Ale Fest will benefit the Brandywine Valley SPCA as part of Dogfish Head’s Beer & Benevolence program. The nonprofit will be on site at Punkin Ale Fest with some adoptable canine friends. Those looking to support the BVSPCA can also bring their dogs and/or family over to the donation-based, fall-inspired photo booth benefiting the organization from 1 to 2 p.m.
This year’s festival will include pumpkin-themed games, a decorating contest and a coloring station. Folks interested in participating in the contest can create a Dogfish Head-themed pumpkin at home and bring it to the festival between 11 a.m. and noon. The winner will be announced at 5:30 p.m.
Known for rocking acoustic emo nights at the Milton brewery, Through Being Cool will heat up the festival stage from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. DJ @jimshredss will also be spinning punk rock tunes throughout the afternoon.
