Drag Queen Comedy Bingo to raise funds for Immanuel Shelter Jan. 13

Immanuel Shelter will host a Drag Queen Comedy Bingo fundraiser starting with dinner from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 13, at Mariachi Restaurant in Rehoboth Beach. Bingo games featuring local drag queen stars Anna Rexia and Jennel Collins begin at 7:30 p.m. A portion of the cost of each meal and beverage will be donated to Immanuel Shelter, a nonprofit corporation that provides winter refuge to the homeless in eastern Sussex County. Warm meals, showers and clean bedding are available daily starting at 4:30 p.m. through mid-April.

Those wishing to join the bingo fun should plan on being present and ready to play by 7:30 p.m. at Mariachi. Six games with three cards each can be played for $25. Additional cards are available for $1 each, and a  50/50 raffle will be offered. Cash prizes totaling $400 will be awarded. Organizers will provide the cards and dobbers, and attendees provide the lucky troll and good luck charms. or buy tickets in advance through Immanuel Shelter’s website at www.immanuelshelter.org or pay at the door on a first-come, first-seated basis.

Future Drag Queen Comedy Bingo Nights are set for Wednesdays, Feb. 10 and March 9. Mariachi Restaurant is at 14 Wilmington Ave. in Rehoboth Beach.
