It was bound to happen and it has.
According to multiple national news outlets, as part of an ongoing investigation into the storage of classified documents, the FBI conducted a search Feb. 1 at President Joe Biden’s home in North Shores, a small community about a mile north of Rehoboth Beach.
The search was reportedly done with Biden’s support and cooperation.
The search is a further step in a thorough and timely Department of Justice process that the president will continue to fully support and facilitate, said Bob Bauer, personal attorney for the president, in a statement released the morning of the search. More information will be available at the conclusion of the search, said the statement.
The FBI also searched the president’s home in Wilmington for documents Jan. 20. While that search was being conducted, the president was at his beach house.
Biden and his wife Dr. Jill Biden purchased the house in North Shores in 2017 after his time as vice president had ended.
