The night was filled with marching, music and fun Dec. 5 as Georgetown held its annual Christmas parade.
The evening started off with the annual Caroling on The Circle and Pack the Pod, where parade-goers donated nonperishable food for the less fortunate.
Then, more than 110 entrants marched through Georgetown, with many illustrating the theme, 2024: The Magic and Music of Christmas.
Grand marshals of the parade were members of the Megee family, owners of Megee Motors in Georgetown.
Jimenez Hardscapes took top honors as best overall, along with first place in the commercial float category.
Boardwalk Buddy Walk earned second place in commercial floats, and Shore Tint & More took third.
Stars on 9 Dance Center received the award for best entry for the theme with Magic & Music of Christmas.
Non-commercial float winners are Christmas Without Borders, first place; Santa’s Elves and Christmas Bells, second; and Preferred Power Washing, third.
Top honors in the band category were awarded to Sussex Central Golden Knights. Sussex Tech Raven Nation placed second.
Adult/youth marching category winners are First State Community Action Agency, first place; DMV Destroyers, second; and Sussex Tech Coast Guard JROTC, third.
Girl Scout Troop 499 won the scouts marching category.
