Lunch With A Purpose marks $1 million milestone

December 15, 2024

Lunch With A Purpose, a community-driven initiative aimed at supporting local charities, celebrated an extraordinary achievement Dec. 4, as it surpassed the $1 million mark in funds raised.

Since its inception, the program has brought together individuals from all walks of life to enjoy a meal while donating to a cause. What began as a modest gathering has blossomed into a regional movement, fostering connections and generosity.

To mark the occasion, a special luncheon was held at the Clubhouse at Baywood in Long Neck, drawing hundreds of supporters. The event included testimonials from beneficiaries, who shared how the initiative has made a tangible difference in their lives.

“Today we’re celebrating the milestone of reaching $1 million. It’s extremely special,” said Cheryl Mitchell, founder and director of Lunch With A Purpose. “These are just local women, going to lunch nine months out of the year, and every dollar raised today goes toward a charity, in this case it’s Primeros Pastos Inc.”

With its growing momentum, Lunch With A Purpose shows no signs of slowing down, proving that a simple idea, shared over lunch with friends, can change the world.
