Mountaire reaches out to donate food

Mountaire Farms distributed 110,000 pounds of chicken and canned goods to faith-based organizations and food pantries in two locations Feb. 18, at Crossroad Community Church near Georgetown and Allen Memorial Baptist Church in Salisbury, Md. Volunteers braved the cold and wind to load hundreds of vehicles from preregistered organizations. The distribution was in partnership with radio station 88.7 The Bridge to restock food pantries this winter and help families in need.

Mountaire Farms, which sponsors mass food distributions at Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter, is the fourth-largest poultry company in the United States, with plants and offices in Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and North Carolina. Over the past 27 years, Mountaire has donated more than 1 million meals to families during events in Delaware and North Carolina.
