October 26, 2024
Brandywine Valley SPCA held its annual Bark on the Boards fundraiser Oct. 19 in Rehoboth Beach. The event included a Delmarva DockDogs dog-jumping competition, live entertainment on the Bandstand, vendors and pet adoptions.

There were dozens of SPCA staff and volunteers on hand to make sure the event went smoothly. Shown are (l-r) Brandywine Valley SPCA staffers Sarah Smith, Rita Gallagher and Corrine Yeager, along with volunteer Jasmine Yeager.
Kate Weiss loved holding this dog that was up for adoption, but had to put it down quickly before she actually did so.
There were lots of people with their dogs in tow at the event. Keegan Madden pets Carole Downes’ dog Tobi while Downes takes a break on a bench by the bus stop.
The Bandstand featured live entertainment, including members of Clear Space Theatre’s youth program.
It’s mostly about dogs, but John Butschky takes the time to pet this kitten that was also up for adoption.
The Bachelor Boys Band featuring Calli Graver had the Bandstand sounding like it was a summer evening. Shown are (l-r) Steve Hoke on sax, Jimmy Fingers on piano, Rob Tait on drums, Graver singing, Jordan Berger on bass and Sean Markey on guitar.
