Rehoboth police seek information on sexual assault

About 12:02 a.m., June 19, the Rehoboth Beach Police Department was made aware of a sexual assault that occurred on the beach in the area of Brooklyn Avenue.

The victim was taken to a hospital within the state where they were treated and released. The suspect is still at large.

“Due to the active nature of the investigation, we won't be releasing any additional information about the incident for now,” said Lt. Mark Sweet in an email June 20. “As we progress, we will provide updates.”
