October 30, 2022

The Delaware Agricultural Museum and Village is busy with preparations for “A Farmer’s Christmas,” the museum’s annual holiday celebration, open to the public Saturday, Nov. 26 through Saturday, Dec. 17, at 866 North DuPont Highway, Dover.

The event is unlike any other in the state and draws thousands of people from across the region. Visitors step back in time, recapturing the holiday seasons of yesteryear as they stroll through the museum’s festive main exhibit hall, delight in songs sung by strolling carolers, savor the scent of fresh-baked cookies, engage in holiday crafts and enjoy a variety of artisan demonstrations.

This year’s theme is A Farmer’s Christmas Through the Years, and will feature Christmas nostalgia from 1890 to 1960. Among the many highlights is the museum's holiday village where community groups and private individuals compete for top honors and cash prizes by decorating the historic buildings on the 10-acre property.

The museum is also offers opportunities for businesses to sponsor buildings featured in the holiday village tour. All proceeds go to support the museum, a 501c3, private, nonprofit organization.

Registration for the holiday village decorating contest and business sponsorships is underway.
