Jessica Nicole Scott, dedicated EMT
Jessica Nicole Scott, 40, of Millsboro, passed away Friday, July 21, 2023, peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was born in Seaford, daughter of Karliss Ann VanAuken and the late George Jester Jr.
She was employed by Hart to Heart and formerly, Blades Volunteer Fire Company as an EMT. Jessica was a member of Saint John’s United Methodist Church in Georgetown and also was a member of Georgetown Fire Company EMS Station 93 for 15 years.
Jessica is survived by her husband, William “Alex” Scott; and their son, Brantley Scott; along with her mother, Karliss Ann VanAuken; father, Kerry Carmean (Joann); sisters, Kara Carmean and Jenna-Rae Carmean; brother, Chase Jester; grandmother, Pat VanAuken (Gerald Hitchens); uncle, Kevin VanAuken (Christine Wolf); aunt, Mary Sue Williamson; cousins, Jordan VanAuken (Shelby) and daughter Carley, April Blevins (Ryan) and children Ryan and Rusty; father-in-law, William “Bill” Scott (Kimberly Jackson); mother-in-law, Teresa Mumford; brother-in-law, Shawn Scott (Jennifer) and children Hunter and Angeline; and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father, George Jester Jr.; grandfather, Wayne VanAuken (2007); grandparents, Delbert (1991) and Doris (2007) Carmean.
A Celebration of Life for Jessica will be held at a later date at Millsboro Fire Company in Millsboro.
