LYC ends season with breakwater races
The Lewes Yacht Club summer season of sailboat racing ended Labor Day with the traditional races around the inner Delaware Breakwater in Delaware Bay.
In the keel boat race, Legacy, skippered by Nick Carter, finished in first place, crossing the finish line in one hour. Legacy was followed by Balance, skippered by Richard Beebe, in second, and Delilah, skippered by Heath Gehrke, in third.
In the Sunfish class, Connie Miller was first, followed by Jay Wagamon in second and Christine Lindemer in third. Other finishers included Achareeya Gaston in fourth, Scott and Sav Gaston in fifth and Matt Lindemer in sixth.
In the Mobjack class, the team of skipper Jeff Futcher and Ben Macintyre was first, followed by the team of skipper Sarah Lester and Tony Ingram in second and the team of skipper Paynt Ingram and Margaret Ingram in third. It’s an all in the Ingram family affair with Paynt Ingram, father of Tony, who is married to Margaret.
