Children’s Beach House sets barbecue fundraiser Aug. 24

Children’s Beach House will host an evening of fantastic food, live music, dancing and fun with a purpose at its annual beach barbecue from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m., Saturday, Aug. 24, at 1800 Bay Ave., Lewes. With a Viva Las Vegas twist, this year’s fundraiser is sure to please high rollers and buffet busters alike. The annual event supports yearlong programs for children with disabilities and under-resourced families statewide.

The event will include a live performance by acclaimed country music star Jimmie Allen. Guests will also have the chance to participate in live and silent auctions offering an array of exclusive experiences and coveted items, including a signed guitar from Allen.

“Last year’s beach barbecue raised record support for Delaware’s children and families,” said Kloe Thompson, event chair. “Now Children’s Beach House is set to reach more kids than ever before, and this event is what makes it possible.”
