Millsboro man faces fifth DUI after Long Neck stop

October 2, 2024

A Millsboro man faces his fifth driving under the influence charge after he was pulled over Oct. 1 in Long Neck.

Delaware State Police said Craig Kayfield, 67, was driving southbound on Long Neck Road near Oyster Road at 7:42 p.m. when a trooper saw him swerve his Ford E-250 van across the center line and back. The trooper pulled Kayfield over after he made another traffic violation, police said, and he showed signs of impairment. He was unable to complete standardized field sobriety tests and was arrested for driving under the influence. A computer check showed he had four prior DUI-related convictions, police said.

Kayfield was taken to Troop 7 where he was charged with his fifth DUI, driving while suspended or revoked, and other traffic violations. He was arraigned by Justice of the Peace Court 2 and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of $5,150 secured bond.
