Cape High is bringing back one of its own at commencement, set for Legends Stadium at 6:30 p.m. tonight.

Cape officials settled on the outdoor venue at noon after considering the gymnasium in case of rain.

David Anthony Sposato, known as Tony, will provide the commencement address.

Sposato is a 1985 graduate of Cape High where he played football and was named a USA Today 1984 High School Football All-American. He graduated from Fork Union Military Academy in 1986 and Salisbury University in 1990 with a degree in health and physical education.

At Salisbury University, Sposato earned varsity letters in football and lacrosse. He was captain of the lacrosse team in 1991 and he led the team to the finals of the national championship. He serves on the Foundation Board of Directors at Salisbury University.

Following college, Sposato taught health and physical education at Caesar Rodney Jr. High from 1992 to 1996. He began his landscaping business on his summers off, and he now runs the company full-time.

Sposato currently serves as president and CEO for Sposato Landscape Co. Inc., which is celebrating its 20th year in business this year. The Milton company is ranked in the top 100 landscape firms in North America, according to industry reports. It employs 250 people throughout its four Delmarva peninsula locations serving 5,000 clients.

Sposato lives in Milton with his wife, Karen, and their three children Brooke, Freddy and Michael.

Parking restrictions

Families of graduating seniors and juniors attending graduation will receive one parking pass for lots A and C at the high school. Entrance for those lots is off Kings Highway. Those without a parking pass will be directed to general parking in lot D, also accessed from Kings Highway. Handicapped parking for cars with handicapped tags will be in lot B; a shuttle will run to transport elderly people and others who need assistance.

Once general parking if full, vehicles will be directed to the bus lot on Kings Highway, a quarter-mile east of the high school on the same side of the road as the high school. A shuttle will run every 10 minutes to Legends Stadium and return passengers to their cars following commencement.

Delaware State Police request participants not park on the shoulders of Kings Highway and Gills Neck Road.
