Ward wins East of Maui SUP Challenge

The East of Maui Cape Stand-Up Paddleboard Challenge took place July 25, when paddlers took off from the beach at St. Louis Street in Dewey Beach and finished 10 miles later at the Lewes Public Beach. Joe Ward of Annapolis took top honors in the 19-49 age group in 2:04:27.65.
A three-mile race was held at Lewes Beach to coincide with the 10-mile race. Earl Blackwell won the event on a 12-foot-6-inch board with a time of 31:09.27.
