Anita Louise Betts, longtime waitress

Anita Louise Betts, 86, of Georgetown, passed away at home peacefully in her sleep Tuesday, March 18, 2025. 

Anita was born April 19, 1938, daughter of the late Dorsey and Louise (Harrison) Lowe.

Anita was a waitress for Smith’s Family Restaurant for many years. She was a member of Goshen United Methodist in Milton and had a daycare. Anita loved playing bingo, gardening, and doing yard work, but what she cherished most was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Anita was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Betts; son, Arthur Sanger; and two brothers, Linwood and Calvin Lowe.

She is survived by her children, Charles Sanger of Seaford, Jesse and Robert Sanger of Georgetown, and Debbie Walton of Georgetown.

Funeral services will be held at noon, Wednesday, March 26, at Short Funeral Services chapel, 609 E. Market St., Georgetown. Friends may call after 11 a.m. Burial will be held at Odd Fellows Cemetery, Milton.
