October 21, 2020

Browseabout Books and the Lewes Public Library will host a blockbuster author event online at 12 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 28.

John Grisham, master of the legal thriller, will discuss his new novel, “A Time for Mercy,” with New York Times bestselling author Elin Hilderbrand.

Jake Brigance, the hero of “A Time to Kill,” returns in a courtroom drama that showcases Grisham at the height of his storytelling powers. In the new novel, readers deepen their acquaintance with the iconic Southern town of Clanton and the vivid cast of characters so many fans know and cherish. The result is a richly rewarding novel that is both timely and timeless, full of wit, drama and heart. Bursting with all the courthouse scheming, small-town intrigue, and stunning plot twists that have become his hallmarks, “A Time for Mercy” is Grisham’s most powerful courtroom drama yet.

Grisham is the author of 30 novels, one work of nonfiction, a collection of stories, and six novels for young readers. There are currently more than 300 million John Grisham books in print worldwide, which have been translated into 40 languages.

When he’s not writing, Grisham devotes time to charitable causes, including most recently his Rebuild the Coast Fund, which raised $8.8 million for Gulf Coast relief in the wake of Hurricane Katrina. He also keeps up with his greatest passion: baseball.

Elin Hilderbrand spent her first summer on Nantucket Island in 1993 and has lived there year-round for 26 years. She’s a mother of three, the author of 23 novels, an enthusiastic at-home cook, and a six-year breast cancer survivor.
