Beverly Ann (Hall) Richardson, had great sense of humor

October 1, 2018

It is with extreme sadness that the family of Beverly Ann (Hall) Richardson, born Feb. 2, 1944, announces her peaceful passing Thursday, Sept. 27, 2018. She was surrounded by her loving family and friends.

A native of the Eastern Shore, Beverly was born and raised in Selbyville. She graduated from Selbyville High School in 1962 where she loved to twirl her baton and was crowned homecoming queen. Early in her career, Beverly worked for NCR and Phillip C. Showell Elementary School as the school secretary. Anyone who knows her remembers her infectious laugh, her great sense of humor, her amazing dance moves, her passion for animals, and her love of shopping for clothes (she wore them well)! Beverly loved everything about living near the beach, and enjoyed spending her summers at the ocean with her family and friends. She and Roger also enjoyed camping at Cherrystone in Virginia.

Beverly was preceded in death by her beloved parents, Herman and Mae Hall; and her sisters Colleen Lathbury and Jeanette Harris. She is survived by her husband of 24 years, Roger Richardson of Ocean City, Md.; her son, Donald M. Hitchens Jr. and his wife Michele of Millsboro; her daughter Michele L. Harry and her husband Kevin of Atlanta, Ga.; her two grandsons Justin and Jordan Hitchens; her brother Frederick Hall of Selbyville; and two stepdaughters, Tiffany Richardson and Erica Sturgis, both of Newark.

She will be forever cherished as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and still a queen!

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Beverly Richardson to the Delaware Humane Association, https://delawarehumane.org/donate/donate-now/#memorials. Interment at Redmen’s Cemetery in Selbyville will be private.
