Bike sale set May 25 in Ocean View

Assisting Bicycle Commuters, a local nonprofit that provides bicycles to anyone needing transportation to and from work, announced its annual spring bicycle sale is set for 9 a.m. to 12 p.m., Saturday, May 25, on the grounds of Mariners Bethel Global Methodist Church, 81 Central Ave., Ocean View.

“When donated bicycles are judged to exceed the requirements of our fleet in terms of operating condition and appearance, we set them aside for our annual sale,” said Mike Shriver, program director. “All proceeds from the sale are used to support the program. This year, ABC has set aside over 40 bicycles for the sale including beach cruisers, road bikes, hybrids and a few children’s bikes. All sale bikes are inspected and ready for the road. Find a gently used bike at a great price.”

ABC is associated with Mariners Bethel Global Methodist Church, and generates most of its funds from the annual bike sale and individual donations.
