The Cape baseball team moved to 4-0 with a 7-2 victory over Sussex Tech April 4 at Chris Short Field.
Nick Cox picked up his second victory on the mound, throwing a complete game. He allowed just one earned run, while striking out four batters.
Brenn Scott and Brian Fleming each went 2-for-4, with Fleming slamming a triple and knocking in a run. Isaac Terhune went 1-for-3 and garnered two RBIs. Timmy Hitchcock and Jase Mitchell each added an RBI to the cause.
Brock O'Day and Rosnell Lewis each had a hit and RBI for the 4-1 Ravens.
“We did a nice job staying locked in and sticking to our game plan,” said Cape coach Ben Evick. “Nick did a nice job executing pitches in some big spots. We swung the bats pretty well and scored runs early, then responded when the game got tight. Timmy Hitchcock had a great game defensively, making a few great plays to save runs for us.”
The Vikings host West Deptford, N.J., Friday, April 7.
Softball falls 4-3
