Cape boys’ lacrosse opened the season at home March 28, upsetting Episcopal Academy 13-10. At that time, Episcopal was ranked by phillylacrosse.com as the No. 5 team in the tri-state region.

The Vikings have since beaten three Henlopen Conference teams – Polytech, Dover and Sussex Central – by a combined score of 64-1.

Cape will play at Radnor High School (Pa.) on Holy Thursday, April 14, the fourth-ranked team by phillylacrosse.com.

The Vikings, with an abundance of depth, have run the roster over the last three games while working on chemistry and combinations. The JV squad with 25 players will play its first game Thursday at Radnor. Both varsity and junior varsity games start at 3 p.m.

Cape led Sussex Central 14-0 at the end of the first quarter April 12, and cruised home to a 23-1 victory. Nineteen of Cape’s 23 goals came off assists.

Goal scorers for the Vikings were Burke Healy with five; Mikey Frederick with three; Andrew Wolak, Luke Burton and John Huss with two each; and singles from Joe Coveleski, Jack Schell, C.J. Fritchman, Hunter Jones, Zack Clausius, Mike Guenther, Brexton Carter,  Evan Burris and Scott Webster.

Recording assists were Clausius with three; Coveleski, Fritchman, Hank D’Ambrogi, Burton, Healy and Thomas Gibbs with two apiece; and Schell, Cody Trivits, Huss and Burris with one each.
